Liverpool are in advanced negotiations with FC Bayern Munich for Ryan Gravenberch
According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are in advanced negotiations with FC Bayern Munich over Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Bayern in the summer but has found opportunities tough to come by in his first season in Germany. At 20, he still has time to change his fortunes and leaving the Allianz Arena is an option.
Now, it is claimed that the talented youngster is not happy with the way the move has materialised and could be looking for a way out with Liverpool deemed one of the possible destinations.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to reinvigorate his midfield in the summer transfer window with the current midfield now not seen to be of the standard of the past.
This season has been a disaster in every possible sense and barring the 7-0 win over arch-rivals Manchester United, there is not much to look back about.
Out of all cup competitions and currently sixth in the league, the only thing worth fighting for is a top-four finish and UEFA Champions League qualification.
It is particularly important that we secure Champions League qualification in order to acquire the primary targets in the summer, which would be tough to do if we do not have top European football to offer.
Gravenberch, at 20, would be a very shrewd signing and has the capability to become one of the mainstays of our midfield in the years to come.
