Liverpool to rival Barcelona for talented 23-year-old French defender

Liverpool to rival Barcelona for talented defender Evan Ndicka

According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka ahead of the summer window.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is reportedly out of contract in the coming months and has made it known to his club that he will not be signing an extension. This has put several big clubs on alert, with Liverpool being rivalled by Barcelona.

For Liverpool, the acquisition of Ndicka would be a smart move, given their need for a strong and reliable centre-back. The Reds have struggled with defensive injuries this season, which has forced them to play several players out of position.

As a result, they now find themselves fighting for a top-four finish. Ndicka’s physicality, aerial ability, and pace would make him an ideal candidate to strengthen Liverpool’s defensive line and restore their defensive solidity.

Liverpool fans will be familiar with Ndicka’s performances in the Bundesliga where he has caught the eye with his solid defending and ability to play out from the back. In addition, his versatility is another quality that would appeal to Jurgen Klopp, as Ndicka can also play as a left-back.

Liverpool will face stiff competition from Barcelona, who are also said to be interested in the defender. The Catalan giants have also struggled for depth, and are looking to add players like Ndicka.

Despite the competition, Liverpool has a few factors in their favour. Liverpool’s style of play would suit Ndicka’s attributes, as the Frenchman is comfortable playing out from the back and can also initiate attacks with his long-range passing.

Klopp’s reputation for developing young players could be a decisive factor in Ndicka’s decision, as the defender will be looking for a club that can help him reach his full potential. A move to Anfield might just be what he needs.

It’s not easy to beat Barcelona to a player. Only time will tell if we manage to do that but Ndicka would be a great option for us to sign.
