Barcelona out of race for Liverpool target Ruben Neves

However, recent reports suggest that Barcelona, who were in the race for Neves alongside the Reds, now no longer want to sign him.

Neves has been a standout performer for Wolves ever since his arrival from Porto in 2017. The Portuguese midfielder possesses an array of qualities that make him an ideal fit for any top club.
The news that Barca no longer want to sign him will come as a boost to Liverpool, who have obviously been monitoring Neves’ situation at Wolves closely. The midfielder is believed to be keen on a move away from the Midlands club, with his contract set to expire in 2024 (Transfermarkt). Liverpool, therefore, have a chance to sign the Portuguese star for a reasonable fee.
Neves’ ability to play in a deep-lying midfield role and dictate play from the back would make him an ideal replacement for someone like Georginio Wijnaldum. Furthermore, his set-piece prowess and long-range shooting ability would add an extra dimension to Liverpool’s midfield.
