Three Premier League clubs interested in signing outgoing Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
According to Daily Mail (h/t Mirror), three Premier League clubs – Newcastle United, Brighton and Aston Villa are interested in signing soon-to-be-gone Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The former Arsenal star has his contract at Anfield expiring this summer, with no sign of an extension. In fact, reports have confirmed his exit from the club at the end of this season.
After joining Liverpool in 2017, Oxlade-Chamberlain became one of the central midfielders in the league at the back end of the 2017/18 season. But, an unfortunate ACL injury in the semi-final of the Champions League in the same season derailed his progress.
Since making a comeback from that long-term injury, the England international has not been the same. There was a period in the middle of last season where he started playing well, but could not carry on with his performances consistently.
The 29-year-old has played a total of only 471 minutes in all competitions for the Reds this season. He has fallen off the radar for an England call-up as well.
If he makes the right decision in the summer and goes to the club he feels is good for him, there are still a few good seasons for him to deliver the goods.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has the attributes to still be a good Premier League midfielder. His versatility is something that can be put to good use in either Newcastle, Brighton or Villa.

Although the latter half of his Liverpool career has been a damp squib, the Englishman made a very good start here before a bad injury curtailed his progress. We will still remember the thunderbolt strikes against Manchester City in the league and Champions League in 2018. All the best to him wherever he goes!
