Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson admits that it would be great to have Jude Bellingham

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that it would be “amazing” to have Jude Bellingham in the squad.

Henderson and Bellingham have built up a strong relationship during their times together in the England squad. The latter has a close friendship with Trent Alexander-Arnold as well.

It is no secret that Liverpool want to sign Bellingham in the coming summer. There have been several contradicting reports about his future. We will not comment much on that because a lot can happen between now and the end of this season.

Here’s what Henderson said when asked about the midfielder’s potential future with the Reds (h/t Metro):

“Listen, I just want him to be the best player he can be.

“Of course, if it ended up being Liverpool that would be amazing. But it’s got to be right for him and it’s going to be every club you can think of that will want him.

“He has to think about himself and make sure he makes the right decision for his career.”

It is a no-brainer that any Liverpool player would want Bellingham to come and improve the squad instantly.

It won’t be easy though as super clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea are in the race. If this transfer becomes a financial race, Liverpool are behind the three mentioned clubs.

However, if the 19-year-old decides his next move based on the manager he wants to work with, then Jurgen Klopp and the Reds may have the upper hand.

Even if the latter is the case, Borussia Dortmund won’t let him go easily, understandably so. They might want to demand as much as possible for a player who is a generational talent.

Let’s hope that after all this tracking and saving up money for this particular transfer, Liverpool are able to sign Bellingham in the summer. Missing out on him now would be a huge blow to the club and the manager.
