The Liverpool squad has held crisis talks ahead of the Chelsea game
According to Daily Mail, the Liverpool squad held crisis talks on Sunday to discuss the problems they are facing post the thumping defeat at Manchester City.
After smashing Manchester United 7-0, the Reds have lost the three subsequent games to Bournemouth, Real Madrid and City.
The latest defeat not only derailed their chances of a top-four finish but also seeped out any optimism among the fans that these players are capable of winning 5-6 games on the bounce.
On Saturday, a dejected Virgil van Dijk spoke about having “hard talks” to remedy the situation. The problem is that the Dutchman himself is in terribly bad form. If he wants to lead the fightback, his form needs to improve drastically.
In the press conference ahead of the Chelsea game, Jurgen Klopp touched on that and confirmed that there have too many meetings taking place these days, unfortunately. It tells us that everyone in the building is not happy with how things are.
At the moment, it feels like no one in the AXA Training Centre knows how to turn this around for the final 11 games of the season. They all are waiting for the summer. Mohamed Salah’s comments have also centred around challenging next season. What about the dozen games coming up now Mo?
Liverpool playing Chelsea away from home is always a spectacle. On Tuesday night, we will see two highly underperforming teams playing in search of an identity.
