“As hard as it is to stay off, you still see these things. For me, it was very tough, but it kind of kept me going trying to prove people wrong. There was one comment that stuck by me from the start of my rehab to when I scored against Cardiff and it said: ‘you’ll never walk again’.

“I thought I’m going to take that and run with it and come back. The way I came back was all a dream come true for me.”

Elliott’s journey back to full fitness was nothing short of a dream coming true for the young midfielder, who credits his positive mindset for helping him get through the tough times.
