Liverpool meet the representatives of Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch
Liverpool are obviously in the market for midfield reinforcements, and one player who sees himself linked with a potential move to Anfield is Ryan Gravenberch. According to Christian Falk of Sport Bild, Liverpool held a meeting with the agents of the young midfielder.
Despite holding talks with Gravenberch’s representatives, Liverpool have yet to make a bid for the midfielder. Bayern Munich, who want to keep hold of him, have made it clear that they do not intend to sell the talented youngster.
However, as we have seen in football, nothing is impossible, and the right price could potentially convince Bayern to part with the player. Falk believes that the decision to talk to Gravenberch’s representatives is primarily due to the Bellingham saga potentially ending.
Liverpool’s need for midfield reinforcements is well-known. The club has been heavily reliant on the trio of Jordan Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho. The inconsistent performances certainly tell us there is a gap that needs filling.
Dutch overload at the Reds?
Gravenberch, who is just 20 years old, is one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in Europe. He already established himself as a regular for Ajax before his move to Bayern and the Netherlands national team, showing incredible composure on the ball and a maturity beyond his years.
However, with Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich ahead of him, game time has been tough to come by for the youngster and that could change at Liverpool. In 26 appearances across all competitions this season, he has a goal and an assist.
Gravenberch would be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s midfield due to his potential and fit with Jurgen Klopp’s system, but convincing Bayern Munich to sell him may be challenging.
Having said that, Liverpool’s midfield is in need of fresh blood, and Gravenberch could be just the player to provide it. His technical ability, vision, and composure on the ball would make him a valuable asset for the club, and he would add a new dimension to the team’s play.
