Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool will contact 24-year-old World Cup winner’s camp ‘soon’

Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool are set to contact Alexis Mac Allister’s camp ‘soon’

Fabrizio Romano has stated that Liverpool are all set to come in contact with Alexis Mac Allister’s camp over a potential transfer ‘soon’.

The Italian transfer expert discussed the Reds midfield transfer targets in his latest CaughtOffside column. He talked about Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich being a target alongside Chelsea’s Mason Mount

.

He then added that Mac Allister is also a player Liverpool will want to be in touch with ahead of the summer transfer window. Roman wrote:

“Liverpool are still there for Ryan Gravenberch, still pushing, they have not given up. They consider him as a perfect signing, and he wants to play, not to be on the bench like he has been at Bayern. Still, Bayern want him to stay, so they have no intention to negotiate, let’s see if they can persuade him to stay.

“Liverpool are waiting, but Bayern consider him a really important player, so Liverpool are also considering Mason Mount and they will have contacts with the camp of Alexis Mac Allister soon, probably in the next few weeks.”

Now, there shouldn’t be any major reason why Mac Allister wouldn’t want to swap Brighton for Liverpool. Even if the Seagulls finish above us this season, there is no chance that the Reds will allow that to happen again.

That is the reason why they will be proactive in the summer – to build this squad up and challenge for every single trophy once again. Gravenberch only signed for Bayern last summer and the Bavarians want to keep him.

Mount plays for a direct rival. On paper, Mac Aliister’s potential move to Anfield seems to make sense. The 24-year-old, fresh off winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina in December, would want to replicate such success at the club level too.

Brighton, with all due respect to them, aren’t as big or ambitious as Liverpool right now. The Brighton & Hove Albion star can slot in perfectly in one of the two No. 8 positions in our formation.

More Liverpool News:

There is no reason why we shouldn’t sign Mac Allister. Although, if the Seagulls want a huge fee for him and it impacts our plans to sign other targets, then Liverpool would be wise to reconsider their approach. If not, go for this signing.
