Christian Falk: 20-year-old midfielder ‘will ask’ current club to let him join Liverpool

Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch backed to push for Liverpool transfer

According to Christian Falk of BILD on CaughtOffside, Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch will push for a summer move to Liverpool if his demands are not met at the Allianz Arena.

The Dutchman is one of the finest young players in world football and was the heart of a young Ajax Amsterdam side that impressed under Erik ten Hag. His move to Bayern last summer was seen as a coup but has not gone according to plan.

Gravenberch has largely had to settle for a spot on the bench, with regular playing time hardly offered. He cuts a frustrated figure and is now evaluating his options ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are on the lookout for midfield reinforcements and have scouted Gravenberch in the past. They remain keen on his services and are in a position to offer him more playtime in the first team.

Falk reveals that Gravenberch has already informed Bayern of wanting more playtime. Should they fail to convince him, there is every reason to believe the youngster will push for a summer exit.

“Ryan Gravenberch keeps pushing. Either he gets more playing time or he wants to change.”

Jurgen Klopp is extremely keen to land the 20-year-old and Gravenberch is aware of it. The German has a track record of improving players and is the best man to rekindle the Dutch talent’s potential.

“Liverpool have made it clear to him that Jurgen Klopp wants him. Gravenberch will ask Bayern to leave for Liverpool if Tuchel cannot convince him to stay.”

A lot will depend on whether Thomas Tuchel can get through to the Dutch star. Should he fail, Liverpool could be primed to land one of the best young talents in world football to aid their rebuild.

Gravenberch can be a long-term solution for Liverpool’s woes in the middle of the park. However, the Reds need multiple players to be brought in this summer. Landing the 20-year-old Dutchman would be an excellent way to kick off the summer transfer business.
