Liverpool target Moises Caicedo to focus on Brighton & Hove Albion until season ends
Moises Caicedo, who is a target for Liverpool ahead of next summer, is set to focus solely on Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season.
The Ecuador international is on the radar of multiple top teams, including the Reds. Premier League rivals Arsenal, who tried to sing him in January, and Chelsea also have the midfielder on their radar.
But speaking via Arsenal Informer (h/t Liverpool Echo), Caicedo’s agent Manuel Sierra has stated that any offers and talks regarding the 21-year-old’s future will have to wait until the campaign concludes.
“Now, he’s completely focused on the last part of the season. All evaluations will be postponed until the summer.”
Brighton have been flying high under Roberto De Zerbi. The Seagulls have been one of the best teams in the English top flight under the Italian manager. They are fighting for a place to get into the Europa League.
The Ecuadorian has been pivotal to the Amex Stadium side’s success. He was signed by the East Sussex side from Independiente del Valle in January 2021 and has now gone on to become one of the most sought-after stars.
Sierra also stated that Caicedo dreamt of playing in the Champions League. However, as things stand, Liverpool will not be able to provide that next season.
We are currently fifth in the league table. However, Manchester United have slipped up in recent weeks. On the other hand, the Anfield side have put together a winning run.
The Merseyside outfit have struggled in the middle of the park in the current campaign. Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho have been nowhere near their best. We have had to rely on youngsters Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones a lot.

Therefore, Liverpool’s engine room could do with a player like Caicedo. The Ecuadorian is tenacious and is not afraid to go into tackles. But it remains to be seen whether the Merseysiders will be the ones who will secure his services.
