Jurgen Klopp “not worried” about lack of Champions League football at Liverpool ahead of summer transfer window

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is “not worried” about the lack of Champions League football next season ahead of next summer transfer window.

As things stand, the Anfield side are fifth in the Premier League. English top-flight rivals Manchester United are ahead of us in fourth place. But the Old Trafford side have slipped up a bit in the last few weeks, giving the Merseysiders some hope.

However, speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Klopp feels Liverpool have enough pedigree to attract players even without being in the UCL.

“We can’t guarantee UCL next year, but everything else is the same. It’s a fantastic club. We are Liverpool, very attractive for a lot of players. I am not worried. Of course, it’s more difficult without UCL.”

The Reds have been underwhelming in the current campaign. Initially, it was expected that the Anfield side would once again be challenging for all the major trophies alongside Manchester City, but that has not been the case.

We seem to have worn ourselves out after gunning for all four titles last season. The Merseysiders got a hold of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Unfortunately, we were pipped to the PL title on the final day and Real Madrid beat us in the UCL final.

A number of Liverpool players will be out of contract next summer. The likes of Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita

, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, and James Milner are in the final months of their current contracts.

Also, the Reds could seemingly do with more strength in depth in certain areas of the pitch. At centre-back, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate have been injury prone. As a result, Virgil van Dijk has not had a stable partner.

In the attack, the Anfield side look to have enough quality with Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota. In the last two transfer windows, we have also signed Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.

If Liverpool do not get into the top four, we are still one of the biggest clubs in the country. Klopp has got us back to the pinnacle of football. Therefore, the Reds do not need to be worried about being unable to sign world-class talent.
