Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hopeful of a miracle in top four face
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not getting ahead of himself as the curtain draws on this season’s top-four race.
The Reds are mounting a late push to finish in the UEFA Champions League spots and are within touching distance of both Manchester United and Newcastle United. With just a handful of games left, we might have left it too late.
Liverpool need to not only win all of their games but also require the teams above them to slip up. It is fair to say that our fate is not in our hands. It is something Klopp is fully aware of.
The German has been privy to miracles as Liverpool boss and has already provided us with several moments to cherish for a lifetime. The comeback against Barcelona is in a league of its own and can offer renewed faith among the Reda faithful that they can do the unthinkable once again.
Klopp admits that while miracles can happen, the situation this time around is not purely in our hands. He is right to temper expectations and ensure that we do our part and hope for the best.
“Everyone involved in these moments will never forget it. You are right, we were around when miracles happened, but it was then still in our hands.”
Klopp goes on to add that Newcastle and Manchester hold their fates in their hands unlike us. In the end, even if we do our bit it will fall well short of expectations.
“Newcastle and United would be happy if we were not there anymore, but it is more likely they will do it.”
While it is best we don’t get ahead of ourselves, having something to fight for is sure to act as a rallying cry to the players. The Reds have responded well to pressure in the last few years and would relish accomplishing yet another difficult task.

Securing top four would give us something to cheer about in a season that has fallen well short of expectations. Pipping Manchester United to it will only make it sweeter. Whether we do it or not is another matter, it is good to see us refuse to throw in the towel and do our part to make it a contest. It is, after all, an excellent ploy from the German to shift the pressure onto our rivals.
