Liverpool are not interested in bringing back Sadio Mane from FC Bayern Munich
According to David Lynch for Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are not interested in bringing Sadio Mane back to Anfield from FC Bayern Munich.
Mane left for Bayern at the end of last season when the team had missed out on a historic quadruple with hopes among many that we would build on the success this season. The Senegalese however felt the need for a different adventure and chose to move to Germany in a £35m deal.
However, things have been far from ideal for the forward in Germany. Initially, he struggled with injuries and thereafter did not give enough convincing performances to warrant a starting role.
With his bust-up against Leroy Sane being seen as the final nail in the coffin, it is claimed that Bayern wants to cut their losses short and are willing to listen to offers for Mane.
Hence, many were thinking about a return of the player to Anfield, who lit up the stadium with his electric performances on many occasions. He has evidently struggled for form and favour in Germany, although his return of 12 goals and six assists in 37 games for them isn’t that bad.
Liverpool, however, have shown little interest in bringing back the Senegalese to Anfield and would not be one of the interested parties in case he moves on from Bayern.
One of the reasons could be that the club has signed two forwards Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo since Mane’s departure and it is one of the areas at the club which does not require much tinkering.
Rather it is the midfield which needs sorting out and the priority would be given to upgrading it rather than wasting funds to add another forward.

We accepted a bid for Mane last summer and called time on him. He left and we moved on. There is no point in revisiting this story because it makes no sense to re-sign him. It is hard to see what he will add to this team that we already don’t have.
