Jurgen Klopp declares Liverpool star Roberto Firmino fit to face Aston Villa at Anfield
According to the club’s official website, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has declared Roberto Firmino fit to face Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday.
The Reds end their home campaign against the Villains in what should be an emotionally charged full house. Firmino has struggled with injuries of late but thankfully is now in line for one last Anfield hurrah.
The Brazilian ace is set to depart the club next summer once his contract expires. Hopefully he can end it with yet one more goal in front of an adoring Kop.
Having arrived from TSG Hoffenheim in 2015, Firmino has been a key part of the club’ success under Klopp. He redefined the false nine role and was part of arguably the most lethal striking trio seen on English shores.
A fan favourite, Klopp’s words will come as a boost for an adoring crowd keen to give the player a proper sending off. One player who will miss out is Darwin Nunez who is yet to recover from his toe injury.
“As far as I know in the moment, because I don’t have all the information yet, Bobby takes the place of Darwin because Darwin will not be available.”
With a mural being painted outside Anfield and a song to remember for the ages, Firmino will be the name on everyone’s lips on the night. He has so far made 360 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, scoring 109 goals and assisting 72 more.
Firmino will be one of four Reds’ stars who will don the jersey for the final time at Anfield. James Milner will leave on a similar standing while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will also be honoured for their service.

There is little doubt that Firmino is a club legend and will always be treated as one. A player who epitomises the selfless nature needed for the team to succeed, his contributions will be remembered for generations to come. It is certainly not our anthem but Anfield will belt out ‘Si Senor’ all night with the same gusto. A firmino goal would certainly raise the roof off the place.
