Eberechi Eze brushes off the rumours linking him to Liverpool as he is enjoying playing for Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has brushed aside the rumours linking him to a number of clubs, including Liverpool.
Apart from the Reds, the 24-year-old is linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and French champions Paris-Saint Germain.
Eze has been in great form since Roy Hodgson took charge of Palace following the departure of Patrick Vieira. He has scored six goals and assisted one in the last eight games while playing the attacking midfield role. Hodgson has used him as one of the attacking number eights too.
Here’s what the uncapped England international said when asked about the rumours and him enjoying football at Selhurst Park (h/t Evening Standard):
“I’m not really too bothered about that [rumours]. I’m just focusing on the present.
“I want to continue enjoying it and contributing to the team as much as I can. I’m improving every game.”
Liverpool are in the market to sign versatile midfielders. Alexis Mac Allister, who can play as a central and attacking midfielder, is closely linked with the Reds. The feeling is that the Argentine will become a Red very soon.
Mason Mount of Chelsea has been linked for some time now. The 24-year-old is not expected to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal are set to rival Liverpool for the signature of the England international.
Eze is another fantastic talent who has grown in stature in the last few weeks. The key for him would be to carry this form into next season and show a level of consistency. He has the tools to become an elite playmaker in years to come.
