International Watch: Liverpool superstars including Virgil van Dijk brace themselves for national duty

Liverpool stars get ready for the upcoming International Break

The upcoming international break surely promises to be an eventful period for several Liverpool FC stars, as they represent their respective nations in various competitions and qualifiers, and a few, in friendly fixtures as well.

In the UEFA Nations League finals, the Netherlands, led by Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo, will face Croatia in the first semi-final on June 14. The Dutch duo will be eager to guide their nation to the final on June 18, where they will potentially meet the winner of the Italy versus Spain clash.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson have received call-ups to the England squad for a pair of Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Three Lions will travel to Malta on June 16 before hosting North Macedonia at Old Trafford three days later.

Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones will participate in an England U21s training camp ahead of the U21 European Championship this summer. The final squad for the tournament will become public information on June 14, surely offering an exciting opportunity for these talented youngsters to showcase their skills at the international level.

International Watch

In other qualifiers, Ibrahima Konate sees himself in the France squad for games against Gibraltar on June 16 and Greece on June 19. Kostas Tsimikas could feature for Greece in their match against France, and his nation will also face Caoimhin Kelleher‘s Republic of Ireland on 16th June.

Captain Andy Robertson will aim to guide Scotland to further victories as they take on Norway on June 17 and Georgia on June 20 in Euro 2024 qualifiers. Diogo Jota‘s Portugal will face Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland on the same dates.

Alisson Becker will represent Brazil in matches against Guinea and Senegal on June 17 and June 20, respectively. Luis Diaz is set to join the Colombian squad for friendly encounters against Iraq and Germany.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah‘s Egypt will face Guinea in a qualification match for the Africa Cup of Nations.
