Liverpool face competition as Chelsea enter talks for Romeo Lavia
Liverpool FC’s pursuit of 19-year-old midfielder Romeo Lavia has hit a snag as Chelsea has reportedly opened talks with Southampton over the talented youngster.

Interestingly, Southampton’s valuation of James Ward-Prowse, set at a staggering £50m is an indication of how much the Saints would want for Lavia as well. One would expect the hierarchy at St. Mary’s to demand a similar price for the Belgian as well.
Another club in the mix is Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side have a clause in Lavia’s contract that activates in the summer of 2024 letting them buy the player back. This clause came into existence when City sold him to Southampton in July 2022.
