Saudi clubs target outgoing Liverpool star Roberto Firmino
Following his links with Real Madrid, outgoing Liverpool star Roberto Firmino would have plenty of offers on the table from the Middle East as well.
Fabrizio Romano speaking to Caught Offside via Football Espana (h/t Liverpool ECHO) has said that Roberto Firmino has a lot of offers from Saudi clubs on the table. Speaking of the clubs he could possibly land at, Real Madrid could surely be somewhere we could see him ply his trade next season.
Following the departure of Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia, Los Blancos need a player in that position. Firmino is surely an excellent option, and there is no doubt that he could win loads of trophies in case he moves to Spain.
Here is what Romano had to say about Bobby’s potential move to Saudi:
“Saudi Arabia are not going to stop pursuing big signings. We’ve already seen Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, and the plan is to continue.”
“They will try to sign many players, and important players. Talks will follow with Mauro Icardi, Roberto Firmino and many more.”
Bobby to the Middle East?
While the level of football is obviously much greater in Spain when compared to Saudi, the money factor could surely be something that attracts the 31-year-old to the Middle East. Having said that, he would surely not be in the wrong if he chases the bag after serving frugal FSG for as long as he has.
Liverpool on the other hand though, have done significantly well in their attempt at replacing the Brazilian. Cody Gakpo now owns the false-9 role at the club, and by the looks of it, he would surely have a great career at Liverpool if he continues to excel the way he has been so far.
Following the advent of Cristiano Ronaldo, even the Saudi League is gaining a lot of traction and if they keep up with the same levels of recruitment and PR, the quality of the league should go up in the coming years.
A number of top players have joined the club after CR7, and the trend will continue for a substantial period of time by the looks of it.

However, it would surely be extremely odd to see someone as close to Liverpool as Firmino don the jersey of any other club. He is the embodiment of what the club is, and he will always have the support of Liverpool fans, wherever he decides to go in the future.
