Liverpool in the race for PSG wonderkid Warren Zaire-Emery
PSG wonderkid Warren Zaire-Emery is the centre of transfer attention as a number of top clubs including Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool show an interest in securing the player’s services.
The 17-year-old Frenchman has become a common sight in Paris Saint-Germain’s matchday lineups and Liverpool could do with the services of the primarily central midfielder. Warren Zaire-Emery has two goals across all competitions in 31 appearances.
French outlet RMC Sport via The Mirror claim that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola “loves the player” and in that case, if Liverpool truly have a genuine interest in the player, it is important to make sure that we put in a bid and accelerate our efforts in trying to get the player on board.
There are no secrets when it comes to Liverpool’s midfield situation. Last season, a faulty midfield with a lot of inconsistent performances meant that the Reds could not secure UCL football for the first time under a full season with Jurgen Klopp at the helm.
Wonderkid addition to the Reds?
In his breakthrough season for the Ligue 1 giants, he displayed great strength in holding onto the ball, and his passing range is also brilliant for his age. However, certain aspects of his game could do with some sharpening.
Having him on our books as an understudy to the likes of Fabinho and other players in the same position, there is little doubt that Zaire-Emery could potentially become a vital player for the Reds in the future given his development goes on without any hindrance.
In the transitioning phase we are in, having young midfielders with loads of talent and a high ceiling is the best way to move forward. Keeping that in mind, Liverpool should surely try their best to get the Frenchman on board before other teams step in.
Speaking of that, Manchester City plan to trade Bernardo Silva who is on PSG’s radar for Zaire-Emery. However, they consider Zaire-Emery ‘untransferable’.

The club’s ambition to secure young talents of his calibre aligns perfectly with its long-term strategy. With Liverpool’s history of success and commitment to nurturing promising players, the prospect of Zaire-Emery donning the famous red jersey holds immense promise for both the player and the club.
