“Double figures”- Jamie Carragher predicts stellar future for Liverpool ace in new avatar

Jamie Carragher makes Trent Alexander-Arnold prediction for next season

England’s 4-0 win against Malta saw Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold make all the headlines as he was brilliant in the game and also scored a belter of a goal contributing to the additional number on the scoresheet.

Following his mind-blowing performance, Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher spoke about Trent and how he could potentially see himself in the midfield more often than not for both club and country in the future. Here is what Carra tweeted:

“This midfield role for TAA will eventually become the norm for club & country! He creates plenty from full-back as he will in CM, but the goal he has just scored will happen a lot more in midfield. He could get double figures in goals & assists playing further forward.”

Starting on the right side of midfield, with the #10 on his back, alongside Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson and Declan Rice, Trent displayed tremendous amounts of composure and controlled the tempo of the game beautifully. Kieran Trippier started as the right-back for Gareth Southgate.

Even towards the end of the club campaign last season, we saw Trent playing as an inside full-back constantly making strides into the midfield alongside Fabinho. That spell of games resulted in a large number of assists for him and also, we remained unbeaten in all those games.

The Scouser in Our Team

With the next England game not far off as North Macedonia travel to Old Trafford on Monday, we could see Trent in the midfield role once again, and hopefully, he puts in a performance like this against them as well.

Trent wouldn’t have seen himself start as a home player at Old Trafford, but that is also something he could enjoy. In 47 appearances across all competitions last season, he scored four goals and got ten assists to his name as well.

This outstanding performance only reinforces the belief that Alexander-Arnold is destined for greatness. His ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game, combined with his exceptional technical skills, make him a potent weapon for both Liverpool and England.

As fans, we can’t help but be excited about Alexander-Arnold’s potential to consistently hit double figures in goals and assists. With his creativity, work ethic, and ever-growing maturity, he is well on his way to becoming a true force in the world of football.
