The 21-year-old Argentine has been making waves in his homeland and is now capturing the attention of Liverpool. According to Planeta Boca Juniors via Twitter (h/t ECHO), the Scouting Team of the Merseysiders was in attendance to keep an eye on Alan Varela.

As fans, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of fresh talent to strengthen our squad, and Varela’s potential acquisition is certainly an exciting prospect even though he remains a comparatively unknown commodity.

Liverpool’s midfield has been a crucial component of the team’s success in recent years. With the departure of a number of players, it is essential to find suitable replacements who can contribute effectively to the team’s style of play. Varela’s skill set suggests he could be a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s system.

According to WhoScored, the player excels in blocking and ball interceptions. Moreover, his wide passing range also could be among the reasons why he remains subject to scouting from Liverpool.

As a defensive midfielder, Varela certainly possesses the necessary qualities to shield the backline, break up opposition attacks, and distribute the ball effectively. Moreover, the prospect of learning from the players at Liverpool and growing might be enticing for the player.

Liverpool’s reputation as a club that nurtures and develops young talents could work in their favour. Under the guidance of Klopp, players have thrived and reached their full potential.

The opportunity to learn from experienced midfielders like Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara would further enhance Varela’s growth as a player. While not a lot of player have made the move from the Americas directly to Liverpool, Varela could change that.
