“More playing time”- Bayern honcho opens up on ace midfielder’s potential move to Liverpool

Bayern president talks about Ryan Gravenberch and his future amid Liverpool links

Among the plenty of midfielders who see themselves linked with a move to Liverpool is Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich as well. The 21-year-old has struggled for minutes in his debut season in the Bundesliga and could make a move away soon.

Speaking of his future and addressing Gravenberch‘s lack of minutes for the better part of the season, here is what Bayern president Herbert Hainer told Bild via ECHO:

“In my opinion, he is an incredibly talented player,”

“That’s why we brought him. He got more playing time towards the end of the season. I’m sure he’ll get more playing time in the future.”

Playing time has been tough to come by as there has been a mid-season manager change at Bayern, plus the fact that it surely isn’t tough to shake up the well-settled midfield duo consisting of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

At this point in time, understandably, Bayern also would not want to let go of a young talented player like Gravenberch but it is important for the Dutchman to assess his requirements and personal aspirations as well.

Another Dutchman at the Reds?

At Liverpool, he would start more often than not due to more than one factor. Inconsistent performances from our midfield trio and the age of the likes of Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara. Both these players are well in their thirties and surely do not have a long-term future at the club which coincides with the dip in their performance levels as well.

A young talent, among the best in his age group, and a lot of traits that would align with Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal style of play, in case Gravenberch makes the switch to Merseyside, there is little to no chance that he would struggle to fit in.

The Dutch influx at Liverpool could surely try their hand at helping Gravenberch decide to join Merseyside sooner than later.

After all, Jurgen Klopp and Co. like the business end of things ironed out quickly so that the players could join right in time for the pre-season.

Surely not a tough job for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Pep Lijnders. Please sell the idea of joining Liverpool to Gravenberch.
