Liverpool ‘ready to make concrete move’ for Gabri Veiga
Another glimmer of excitement for Liverpool fans as we head into the transfer window as the club is now ‘ready to make a concrete move’ for Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga.
Italian journalist Rudy Galetti told GIVEMESPORT exclusively that the Reds are now ready to make a concrete offer for Veiga who has a release clause of £34m in his contract with the Spanish outfit. Here is what Galetti said:
“The Reds are ready to make a concrete move for him to anticipate the competition that is quite fierce.
“Many top clubs like Chelsea, Man City, Real Madrid and Napoli are interested in Gabri.
“Considering his release clause is set at a fair amount of €40m [£34m], the race for Veiga will be won by the fastest club.”
Liverpool’s need for midfield reinforcements gained much more traction following the departure of a number of players over the summer. Even though we bought in Alexis Mac Allister, there is still loads of room for more players to come in and midfielders at that.
One of the concerns Liverpool faces is the average age of their squad. While experience is invaluable, it’s important to strike a balance with young, dynamic players who can provide a fresh impetus to the team.
Veiga to the Reds?
Veiga’s potential signing would help address this concern, offering a talented young player with the ability to contribute immediately while also being an investment for the future.
As Liverpool look to maintain their competitive edge in domestic and European competitions, Europa League this time, the addition of the young midfielder could provide a much-needed injection of youth and dynamism to the team.
Even though Veiga isn’t sufficient enough alone to take Liverpool through their problems, the presence of the experienced trio of Fabinho, Thiago and Jordan Henderson could prove to be extremely beneficial for Veiga and the growth of his career.
Hopefully, the Reds shift their ‘readiness’ to action sooner than later, as surely, there would be a number of clubs already having an interest in securing Veiga’s services.
