Liverpool given encouragement in their pursuit of Bayern Munich midfield star

Liverpool given ‘green light’ to pursue Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch

In the midst of lots of transfer speculation, a sense of positive news comes about as Liverpool get the ‘green light’ in their pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch ahead of the new season.

That is according to The Mirror as Liverpool push for a move while the player remains open to leaving Bayern after a tough season wherein Gravenberch struggled to get game time, at least as much as he desired to.

If one thing was to remain guaranteed at Liverpool, it would most likely remain much more game time compared to his time at Bavaria. Thomas Tuchel at Bayern stands spoilt for choices with the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Gortezka ahead of Gravenberch in the pecking order.

However, the road to secure the transfer surely isn’t straight. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who previously worked with Gravenberch at the Eredivisie club, wants to reunite with him and that surely complicates things a certain little bit.

Ryan to the Reds?

A file report from The Times also goes on to state that even though Bayern remain reluctant to let go of the 21-year-old, a fee of about £26m or thereabouts should do the trick. In the current market scenario, where one would not even get a bag of potatoes for less than £10m, that surely is an affordable fee for a player like Gravenberch.

A fantastic dribbler with a wide range of passing, plus age on his side, theoretically, he stands as the perfect fit for Liverpool Football Club. Keeping that in mind, the Reds should ideally be the first and last team to put in a bid and get Gravenberch on board without any hassle.

While this season, personally for Gravenberch has been far from ideal, any club wanting to have him on board should just look at how he’s performed even in the situation he’s been in.

He’s been all around the midfield playing different kinds of roles in the middle of the park. However, what suits him the best is the deep-lying playmaker role wherein he could really shine pinging those long balls for the wingers to latch upon.

The likes of Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk can help him make his decision quicker as they all get together for the Dutch National Team. Hopefully, our second midfield signing this summer is Gravenberch.
