Liverpool make £55m offer to sign Real Madrid midfielder

Liverpool have apparently made an offer to sign Aurelien Tchouameni

As per Spanish outlet El Nacional (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have made a £55m offer to sign Real Madrid and France midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.

The Reds were interested in Tchouameni last summer when he was playing for Monaco. But, Madrid beat them to it.

The report further reveals that because Madrid have signed Jude Bellingham, who was a long-standing Reds target before they pulled out

, Tchouameni’s game time at the Bernabeu seems like it will stay low.

As a side note, Toni Kroos has signed a one-year extension with Los Blancos. The German is still playing well and would be ahead in the pecking order too.

What that report says is that Liverpool are looking to take advantage of this situation and potentially sign the French international. Madrid would be open to negotiating a sale but will demand something around £80m.

As we know by now, Liverpool, under FSG, do not spend that range of money on a player unless the sale is going well in the transfer market.

With four players leaving for free, this is probably not the summer where the Reds would make heaps of money from player sales, unless they sell a couple to Saudi (who knows!).

So, we are basically relying on an unnatural thing to happen to hope that Liverpool will pay £80m or even something close to that to sign Tchouameni.
