Benjamin Pavard stance emerges as Bayern star open to Liverpool move
In what is surely a sense of positive development for Liverpool when it comes to transfer speculation, Reds’ target Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich remains open to a move to Merseyside should the chance come his way.
Writing in his exclusive column for Caught Offside [subscription required] via ECHO, BILD’s Christian Falk revealed that Liverpool are one of four clubs alongside Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona that Pavard has his eyes set on in case his keenness to leave Bayern Munich actually comes to fruition.
Jurgen Klopp and co. are in a situation wherein they could actually need the service of a right-back, and simultaneously, not so much as well. In case Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to perform as he has been doing in the inverted full-back role, there seems to be no real reason to spend money on reinforcing that department.
However, following the rich vein of form Trent is in for England in the midfield, many have been quick to call out Jurgen Klopp to deploy the Englishman in the middle of the park. In such a situation, we might need the services of a versatile, young right-back.
Pavard to the Reds?
Pavard fits the bill as over the years, he has won everything there is with Bayern Munich and France. Moreover, his ability to play centre-back whenever the situation demands makes him an attractive prospect for the Reds.
At 27 years of age, he is still in the prime of his playing career, and a move to Liverpool might end up being extremely beneficial for both parties. One, the Reds will not have to spend huge money to get on board a midfielder. And two, the defensive issues at right-back will go down significantly as Pavard is more than capable of handling himself when facing the counter.
In any case, the think tank at Liverpool, headed by Jurgen Klopp will take decisions that would benefit the club in the long run and as fans, we best remain assured that they will do their best in the situation they see themselves in.
Having said that, having Pavard on board at Liverpool is surely something that we could enjoy. He has shown his quality over time, and there is certainly a lot of football left in him.
