Liverpool more likely to land Khephren Thuram than Manu Kone

Liverpool FC’s pursuit of midfield reinforcements continues, with journalist Neil Jones suggesting that Khephren Thuram is the likeliest candidate to arrive at Anfield this summer amid other targets. Despite the recent signing of Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool’s recruitment team is eager to secure additional options in the centre of the park.

Speaking to CaughtOffside via ECHO, GOAL’s Neil Jones spoke about the possibility of the likes of Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram joining Liverpool, and here is what he had to say:

“Obviously Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone have been mentioned. From my understanding, Thuram is the likeliest out of those – the profile of him, his physique, his age, and the club he’s playing at, the kind of money that would be involved – I think he perfectly fits the bill.”

While both players have their different skill sets, both would surely add quality to the Reds’ lineup. Kone is much more defensive while Thuram provides equal balance in both attack and defence.

Liverpool’s desire for midfield reinforcements is no secret. Jurgen Klopp’s side recognizes the need to bolster their ranks in that area, and signing Thuram would be a step in the right direction.
