Liverpool ready a bid to offer to Real Madrid for midfielder Federico Valverde
As per Spanish outlet El Nacional (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are readying a €90m to sign Real Madrid and Uruguay midfielder Federico Valverde this summer.
The report reveals that after the arrival of Jude Bellingham and contract extensions of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Valverde has become one of the candidates to leave Madrid this summer.
If the Reds do make an offer of €90m, it would be very difficult for Los Blancos to refuse. Valverde’s sale could also be used to fund the potential signing of Kylian Mbappe by the 14-time European champions.
While all of this makes sense from Madrid’s viewpoint to an extent, we cannot fathom the fact that Liverpool will spend €90m to sign a football player, especially under FSG.
To be fair, Valverde is the type of midfielder who would suit the way Jurgen Klopp wants his number eight to play. And the Reds should be signing multiple midfielders this summer anyway (they have signed one so far).
Whether all of this is just a rumour generated from the Spanish media or are there more wings to this story, we do not know. There is no smoke without a fire though.
As a Liverpool fan, let’s not think too big at the moment. As much as we would like to see Valverde coming to Anfield, it sounds like an unrealistic wish, which is crazy to think because Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Regardless of what happens in this story, let’s hope that Klopp and his staff are working behind the scenes to make the necessary additions to the squad ahead of the start of the next season. The last thing we would accept is another limp season.

It is almost criminal how long we delayed signing a world-class midfielder until the summer. Let’s make sure we realise that we don’t need just Alexis Mac Allister in midfield and that any new additions there should be world-class players. Enough being miser in the transfer windows.
