Ryan Gravenberch addresses his Bayern “goal” future amid Liverpool links

Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch is keen to stay and fight for his place at Bayern Munich

According to Algemeen Dagblad (h/t The Daily Mail), Premier League giants Liverpool have come up against a major obstacle in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star Ryan Gravenberch in the summer transfer window.

The Dutch ace made waves with his performances for Ajax Amsterdam, earning himself a move to Bavaria only last summer. His debut campaign in Germany, however, was little to write home about and Gravenberch largely struggled to make an impact.

At 21, he still has many years left in him and can yet salvage what can be a truly special career. His struggles at the Allianz Arena have attracted Liverpool’,’s interest, who are on the lookout for midfielders this summer.

The Reds have already brought in World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister but know very well that several more key additions need to be made. A solid ball carrier whose ceiling is very high, it comes as no surprise that Jurgen Klopp and co. fancy the Bayern star.

Gravenberch, however, appears to have other ideas and wants to stay and fight for his place at Bayern this summer. This is bad news for the Reds who will now have to look elsewhere to add to their roster.

This is bad news for Liverpool indeed. Gravenberch’s insistence to overcome adversity is the right way to go about it and the attitude would have been a welcome addition to the Liverpool roster.

One of Europe’s best young midfielders, the Dutchman certainly has a bright future in the game. For now, it would appear that he is keen to stay put and fight. It remains to be seen if Liverpool can convince him otherwise.

The Reds cannot afford to dilly-dally this summer and have to get down to business as usual. If Gravenberch is not ready to move clubs, it is high time we shift our attention elsewhere. With pre-season fast approaching, Liverpool are best served to get their business done as soon as possible.
