Liverpool target Khephren Thuram not wanted to be sold by his current club Nice

As per French outlet Get French Football News (h/t Daily Mail), Nice do not want to sell their midfielder Khephren Thuram this summer amidst interest from Liverpool.

A few days ago, it was revealed that the Reds will make a move for the player once he is done representing France in the U-21 Euros.

This latest update should come as a setback to the Anfield club as Thuram was one of their targets going into the summer window.

It remains to be seen whether the midfielder can force a move to Liverpool, provided Jurgen Klopp can attract his attention towards a move here.

After making a good start to the window by completing the Alexis Mac Allister deal, things have gone quiet for the Reds.

We know they need more than one midfield addition in the coming days to have a squad good enough to do better next season.

Thuram’s French U-21 teammate Manu Kone is also a transfer target for Liverpool. We do not know what happens with the latter’s interest.

Thuram, the son of one of France’s finest Lillian, is a fantastic young midfielder who can play the box-to-box role and impact the game all over the field. He is an excellent ball carrier, can win physical battles in midfield, is a good passer of the ball and has a good work rate.

All of his attributes relayed the fact that he would be a great addition to the Liverpool team under Klopp.

Let’s hope that the Reds are able to crack the deal to sign the 22-year-old and fill an important gap in the midfield. Failing to do so would probably weaken their ambitions of properly bolstering the central midfield department this summer itself.
