Price reveal for Perr Schuurs as Liverpool would have to pay up £35m to sign the defender
There have been some developments in the Reds’ pursuit of Torino defender Perr Schuurs as Liverpool would have to pay a sum of €40m (£35m) to sign the Dutch international.
That is as per La Stampa via TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t ECHO). Schuurs has been on our radar for quite a while now, and the club even put in a bid for the player a few weeks ago. However, £26m wasn’t enough. However, our next improved bid of £34m is much closer to the Italian club’s valuation, and that could prove to be enough to lure the former Ajax man to Anfield.
The 23-year-old defender, who rose through the ranks at Ajax, has already showcased his skills with 95 appearances for the Dutch club before making his move to Serie A last year. He has 34 appearances for Torino and has a goal and two assists for the Turin-based side as well.
The reinforcement of the defence is sort of, a matter of urgency as well. We have a number of world-class options to play in central defensive positions, but as last season showed, the depth we possess was not enough. Moreover, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are comfortably in their thirties, and it would just be right for Jurgen Klopp and Co. to think of the future.
Schuurs to the Reds?
Liverpool recognise the importance of strengthening the defensive line, and the club’s interest in Schuurs highlights their commitment to securing top talents to bolster the squad.
As Jurgen Klopp continues to shape the team for the upcoming season, the addition of Schuurs would provide valuable depth and competition in the centre-back position.
Schuurs’ experience for his age and skills surely make him an attractive prospect for Liverpool. Adding a player of Schuurs’ calibre would strengthen the team’s defensive options and provide healthy competition among the centre-backs.
The summer transfer window is a period of anticipation and excitement, and it is essential for the club to make informed decisions that align with the long-term objectives.

We got on board the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai over the summer, and hopefully, we can get on board a defender, and that of Schuurs’ quality to help bolster our squad and give Jurgen Klopp a good headache of whom to choose.
