Perr Schuurs of Torino is a top transfer target for Liverpool this summer
As per Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Torino defender Perr Schuurs is a top transfer target for Liverpool during this summer window.
It is revealed the club see the Dutchman as a defender who ticks all the boxes and would be a cheaper alternative to some of the expensive defenders they are linked with this summer.
The Reds are definitely in the market to add a centre-back. There is a reason why they are linked with a move for Chelsea defender Levi Colwill as well.
Coming back to Schuurs, the 23-year-old is a Dutch centre-back who is yet to make a senior debut for his national team. He arrived at Torino from Ajax last summer itself and had an impressive first season in Italy.
The Fortuna Sittard youth product predominantly played in a three-man central defence last season, either as a right-sided defender or in the centre.
Schuurs is an aerially strong defender who is comfortable at passing out from the back and reading the game well to cut out opposition attacks. He averaged a passing accuracy of 88% and won 55% of his aerial duels in the Serie A last season (Sofascore).
At the tender age of 23 for a centre-back, the Dutchman has crossed the 100-mark when it comes to senior appearances in all competitions so far.
So, not only there is the talent with the potential to further develop, he possesses the necessary experience to know the situation and do well.

If we look at the overall package and the prospect of him coming on a lower pay range, Liverpool should do their best to sign Schuurs this summer. The Dutchman could also learn the trade from the best in the business and countryman here – Virgil van Dijk.
