Steven Gerrard keen on bringing Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to Al Ettifaq
There is an outside chance of Liverpool losing both, their captain and vice-captain in the same window as Steven Gerrard is keen on bringing Jordan Henderson to Al Ettifaq.
That is according to French outlet L’Equipe via Liverpool ECHO. After losing James Milner to Brighton on a free transfer earlier this season, if this claim is to be believed, Hendo could be on his way out of Anfield as well.
While the levels of performance have gone down, it alone does not account for Liverpool to let go of their captain.
With the departure of key midfielders including Milly over the summer, Hendo is the only player at the club who has the engine to run around as opposed to attack-centred options like Harvey Elliott and the possession-retaining duo of Curtis Jones and Thiago.
Moreover, the idea of losing two of our leaders in the same window is nothing short of catastrophic.
Even though we have others like Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson among others who could lead the team, Hendo (33) has an impact on the dressing room only Jurgen Klopp could better.
While Hendo may want to reunite with Stevie sometime in the future, there surely remains enough time for Hendo to take the decision of chucking European Football completely. He would want to leave Anfield as the greatest captain we have had in modern history.

As mentioned earlier, it would be nothing short of a disappointment to lose both, our captain and vice in the same window. It is essential that we have enough leaders in the dressing room. And if the time comes to move on from such a player, we need to groom the other members of the squad to take up a leadership role.
