Bayern want Liverpool midfield target and Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni
Bayern Munich are apparently joining Liverpool in the seemingly impossible race to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid this summer.
This is according to SPORT1 (h/t AS) who state that Thomas Tuchel wants to add the France international to bolster his midfield. Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have been listed as potential departures this summer.
That, to many fans, would sound crazy in itself given just how good those two German midfielders are. But even if one of them leaves, it would make a lot of sense for them to pursue Tchouameni.
He is a strong, dynamic box-to-box midfielder who is especially an asset when his team are defending. Liverpool have been linked with him as well but Real Madrid are supposedly not considering a sale this summer.
Don’t Tchou dare
Their message is clear. Tchouameni will stay. The player seems on board with that idea too, given he recently liked a Tweet which stated “Tchouaméni is not for sale, do you understand, Liverpool? Real Madrid’s message is clear: they want to keep the player“
The Frenchman signed for Los Blancos from AS Monaco just last summer for a big fee of €100million. There is no real reason for them to sell him so soon, even after Jude Bellingham’s arrival from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Bayern Munich are able competitors in any transfer race but it seems they too would be met with the response as Liverpool. Real Madrid may have renewed Luka Modric and Toni Kroos’ contracts, but it is only for one season and they are on their last legs as professional footballers.
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are linked with exits. Even if one of them leaves, let alone both, we must look in the market to sign a new midfielder. That is a must. Even if both stay, fans would still want the club to add another CM despite Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister’s arrivals.

But it is better if we actually focus on attainable targets. Tchouameni doesn’t seem like he falls in that category.
