As per the Guardian, Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal are interested in signing Liverpool winger Luis Diaz with the Reds not keen on selling the player.
It is another disruption in the pre-season for Jurgen Klopp and his staff as the squad prepares for the season ahead. Clubs from Saudi have already boasted interest in signing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
Now, the focus is shifted towards Diaz. Although the report has revealed
that Liverpool won’t entertain any offers for the Colombian international, we never know what can happen in a transfer window. The former Porto winger was out of the game for the majority of last season. He picked up a knee injury
in October and was out for close to six months.Apart from that, since arriving at the club in January 2022, the 26-year-old has been one of the better players in the squad. His inclusion allowed Liverpool to push for a quadruple in the 2021/22 season.
He should be looking to make up for the lost time last season with a big performance in the coming 12 months. He has the pace, dribbling skills and decision-making of high order in the final third to do very well.
Diaz is still settling in as one of the elite wingers in European football. Him moving to Saudi this summer may hamper his progress as a player of high calibre. All the facts lead to the conclusion that the Colombian shouldn’t get distracted by an interest from Al-Hilal.
Liverpool must also neglect any offers and hope that crazy money is not put on the table. Diaz would be integral in how the Reds perform next season. Losing him in the middle of the pre-season would disrupt plans like no other.
