Liverpool star Diogo Jota full of praise for new signing Alexis Mac Allister
The midfield duo of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai made their first appearances for Liverpool albeit in a friendly after securing their transfers from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively. Dominik started the game, and Mac Allister joined the proceedings in the second half of the game.
In a 4-2 win over Karlsruher SC, Diogo Jota scored two late goals, one of them assisted by Mac Allister. Speaking to LFCTV via ECHO after the game, the 26-year-old Portuguese international spoke about how ecstatic he is playing with playmakers like the Argentine.
“I really like these kinds of players,””They just see these passes.
“I just need to make the run and he will make it. I think I will link up very well with him.”
If we sit to think of it, ever since the departure of Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona back in 2018, we never had a creative midfielder until Thiago signed up two seasons later. However, with Dominik and Mac Allister in the lineup now, there seems to be a new look to our attack and not solely depend on our full-backs for any kind of creative output.
Jurgen Klopp will likely experiment with various formations and combinations to optimize the potential of these new midfield signings. Having different creative options in the centre of the park will give the team greater flexibility and unpredictability in their approach.
New boys shining for Liverpool
The fans can expect to see more intricate and incisive passing in the final third, as Szoboszlai and Mac Allister provide fresh ideas and solutions in tight spaces.
Their presence will also take some of the creative burden off the shoulders of the front three, allowing them to focus on finishing chances.
As the new Premier League season approaches, Liverpool supporters will be eager to see how Klopp incorporates Szoboszlai and Mac Allister into the team when it comes to competitive fixtures.
