Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan discusses Jordan Henderson exit

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has expressed his reaction to Jordan Henderson and his departure from the club to join Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. Hogan, who arrived at Anfield one year after Henderson, acknowledges that it will take some time to adjust to the midfielder’s absence.

Reflecting on the midfielder’s decision to leave, Hogan shared his thoughts with the club’s official website, stating that it will be odd not to have Jordan in the squad. He admired how Henderson worked hard to make his mark and secure a place in the team upon his arrival.

“I actually arrived at the club in 2012, so it’ll be a bit odd not having Jordan in the squad. He’s been somebody that I’ve watched in his career grow from a player trying to make his mark and trying to get into the squad when he first arrived, and then an integral part of the team and obviously most recently captain, has had the opportunity to lift pretty much every trophy we possibly could have during that period. So, absolute club legend and a great leader of the club. He’ll be sorely missed.”

Hogan has been a witness to Henderson’s journey since his early days at the club, watching him grow from a determined player trying to establish himself in the squad to becoming an integral part of the team and eventually the club captain. From there on, winning every trophy possible with the club, something only Emlyn Hughes has done with Liverpool as the skipper.

As a key figure in Liverpool’s successes, Jordan Henderson’s departure surely leaves a void in the squad and the club as a whole. His leadership on and off the pitch will certainly be missed by both fans and his fellow teammates.

Farewell Hendo

Hendo’s legacy at Liverpool extends beyond his on-field contributions; he was a source of inspiration and motivation for the entire squad. His professionalism, work ethic, and dedication to the club surely set an example for younger players and instilled a winning mentality in the team.

While it is true that it would be easy to replace Henderson, the player, the task to replace such a figure in the dressing room is where the Reds will face a sense of difficulty. Even with visible drop-offs in the levels of performance, Hendo’s unparalleled work rate is really commendable.
