“He is fit”- Jurgen Klopp lauds Liverpool star after Leicester City win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talks about Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez is in fantastic form heading into the new campaign as the striker has scored four goals and an assist in three 45-minute appearances across the Reds’ pre-season in Germany and Singapore. Manager Jurgen Klopp would surely sit in his seat, thrilled with Darwin’s form in front of goal.

Speaking to the club’s official website about the Uruguayan’s form in front of goal, here is what the gaffer had to say after the 4-0 win over Leicester City wherein Nunez opened the proceedings.

“It’s good, you can see he is a handful, the speed and the goal was a typical goalscorer’s goal. Being there, smelling it and finishing it off. In training he looks really good. He is fit, that helps, and now two more games and Chelsea.”

While his debut season with the Reds was far from ideal, Darwin would know that this season gives him the perfect opportunity to get going at full throttle and silence the numerous critics who were having him on. The gaffer also seems confident and hopefully, the confidence everybody around him instills a sense of urgency in the player himself to deliver week in and week out.

As Nunez prepares for his second season with Liverpool, he understands the expectations that come with playing for such a prestigious club. The Premier League is a demanding and competitive league, and Nunez is well aware that consistency and converting chances will be vital for his success.

Nunez has the backing of the gaffer

Klopp’s support and belief in Nunez are essential as the young striker looks to overcome the challenges he faced in his debut season. The manager’s backing will undoubtedly give Nunez the confidence and motivation he needs to make a positive impact next season.

Liverpool’s attacking options are formidable, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota along with Luis Diaz leading the line. Apart from Mo and probably Lucho, nobody has a guaranteed place in the XI, and hopefully, this healthy competition pushes our players to perform at their best.
