Darwin Nunez is in fantastic form heading into the new campaign as the striker has scored four goals and an assist in three 45-minute appearances across the Reds’ pre-season in Germany and Singapore. Manager Jurgen Klopp would surely sit in his seat, thrilled with Darwin’s form in front of goal.

“It’s good, you can see he is a handful, the speed and the goal was a typical goalscorer’s goal. Being there, smelling it and finishing it off. In training he looks really good. He is fit, that helps, and now two more games and Chelsea.”

While his debut season with the Reds was far from ideal, Darwin would know that this season gives him the perfect opportunity to get going at full throttle and silence the numerous critics who were having him on.
