Talented Academy sensation ready to quit Liverpool for TSV Hartberg

Liverpool Academy starlet Mateusz Musialowski has agreed a deal to move to Austrian club TSV Hartberg

If the reports in Poland are to be believed (h/t Liverpool Echo), Academy star of Liverpool Mateusz Musialowski could be on his way to Austrian side TSV Hartberg after agreeing to a proposal.

The 19-year-old has been with the Liverpool youth setup for more than three years now, having joined from Polish side UKS SMS.

Although he hasn’t made a senior appearance for the Reds so far, his numbers in youth competitions have been very good. In 71 appearances for various youth sides, Musialowski has scored 25 goals and assisted five (Transfermarkt

). He took his goal well in a 4-0 win over Everton U21s last week.

The Poland U21 international is a left winger who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a false nine if required. He is a technically solid player who is exceptional at dribbling, making runs in behind defences and creating goal-scoring moments in the final third.

It is a bit of a shame that he hasn’t made a single appearance for the Liverpool senior team yet. Maybe the talent we have in the position he plays has got something to do with it.

If we look at the club (TSV Hartberg) Musialowski is potentially going to, they are a lower mid-table side in the Austrian Bundesliga. They are seventh in the league in the current season with five points from four games.

This is a good move for the 19-year-old if he is going to play regular minutes for the senior team. Once he does that, we can see his potential grow into a player who could be one of the best young ones in the continent.

Perhaps, Liverpool can keep an eye on him even after they sanction a departure. But given how few players have hit it big since departing Anfield, it remains to be seen how the Polish sensation will develop.
