While Liverpool fans surely loathe thinking of the day Mohamed Salah leaves the club, we must also think from a footballing perspective which makes it certainly possible. The winds of transfer speculation are once again sweeping through the footballing landscape, and Liverpool’s name finds itself intertwined with potential moves that could reshape the team’s forward line.

According to Calciomercato via ECHO, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane is emerging as a contender for a long-term role at Anfield, possibly replacing the dynamic presence of Salah. Additionally, the Italian outlet hints at Liverpool’s intrigue in Federico Chiesa, adding intriguing layers to the Reds’ forward puzzle.

Sane is no new to the Premier League. He was one of Manchester City’s brightest players before moving back home to Germany. Against Liverpool, he has won two of five games in the league. He has his best scoring record against the Reds in his Premier League tally, as he has five goals against us. The next best is Arsenal, with Sane netting three against them.

The prospect of Sane stepping into Mohamed Salah’s shoes raises eyebrows and speculation alike. The German attacker, plying his trade at Bayern Munich, has garnered attention as a potential replacement for the Egyptian star. Salah’s contributions to Liverpool’s success have been immense, making any notion of a successor a topic of considerable debate.

Sane or Chiesa?

The claim that Liverpool could make a move for Sane next year adds an element of anticipation to the transfer narrative. The potential transition would involve much more than merely swapping jerseys – it would involve capturing a player who can deliver on the immense expectations set by Salah’s legacy.

Amidst the Sane speculation, Federico Chiesa’s name emerges as another point of interest. The Italian winger’s skills and abilities have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of Liverpool’s management. Chiesa’s potential addition could offer a different dynamic to the team’s attacking options, potentially serving as a complement to the existing roster.

Having said all of that, best be assured Mo isn’t heading out of the club anytime soon. And even in the highly unlikely scenario that he does so within the next 12 months, we have the likes of Ben Doak to play second fiddle until the Reds find a proper replacement for the player.
