Darwin Nunez club career
The Uruguayan started his club career at Penarol and made his debut in November 2017. In 14 appearances for the club, he scored 4 goals.
In 2019, Nunez joined Spanish second division club Almeria and scored 16 goals in 30 appearances. He finished his only season at that club as the league’s fourth-highest goal-scorer.
In September 2020, Benfica paid €24m to get Nunez on board at the Portuguese club. Benfica reached an agreement with Liverpool for €75m plus €20m in add-ons during the 2022 Summer Transfer window. On 6 August 2022, he scored his first league goal for Liverpool in his debut Premier League match against Fulham, which ended as a draw. The following match, he was sent off for violent conduct in a 1–1 home draw against Crystal Palace, having headbutted opponent Joachim Andersen. What followed was a topsy-turvy campaign for Liverpool with Darwin finding himself in the middle of too many missed opportunities. In 42 appearances across all competitions in his debut season for the Reds, he scored 15 goals and secured four assists.
However, the 2023-24 campaign got off to a good start for Darwin personally, as he came off the bench against Newcastle United to score two goals late in the game to hand 10-man Liverpool a win against a strong opposition.

He made his international debut on 16th October in a 1–1 draw away to Peru in another exhibition, replacing Brian Lozano in the 75th minute of the game and scoring five minutes later.
