Mohamed Salah net worth and salary

Salah’s contract extension in the summer of 2022 saw his salary rise to £350,000 per week. The math adds up to £16,800,000 per year. His net worth is estimated to be around £85m.

Salah’s richness extends from on the pitch to off it as well, as he is one of the Premier League’s highest-earning players alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin de Bruyne.

After shining for his youth club Al Mokawloon, he played for the senior team of the same club for 2 years before being signed up by Swiss club FC Basel who had been monitoring the Egyptian for a while.

For FC Basel, Salah played in the Europa League and scored two goals against Chelsea in back-to-back fixtures against the London club in the 2013-14 season.

Later on, in the winter transfer window of the same season, Salah signed for Chelsea for £11m. Salah scored his first goal for the Blues against Arsenal in the London Derby. The 2014-15 season saw the Egyptian with limited game time and amidst rumours of moving back to Egypt, he was loaned out to Fiorentina on 2nd February 2015.

He was again loaned out to AS Roma after his time at Fiorentina, where he showed glimpses of brilliance and rose to prominence. Salah won the Roma Player of the Year award for the season 2015-16. His deal was made permanent for the 2016-17 season and Salah scored 19 goals in all competitions for the Italian side.

He moved to Liverpool in 2017 and scored on his Premier League debut for the Reds. Since then, Salah has grown from strength to strength and also helped Liverpool grow back to the super-power they were before.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot in his first season with the Reds. Salah broke his shoulder in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final following a horrific tackle from Sergio Ramos and the Reds went on to lose the game 3-1.

Nevertheless, the Reds struck back next season, winning the 2019 Champions League with Salah opening the scoring for the Reds with an excellent spot kick. The Egyptian finished fifth in the 2019 Ballon d’Or list.

In 2020, Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years and their 19th overall. Salah finished the season as Liverpool’s highest goal-scorer and the league’s second, falling one goal short of Harry Kane.

2020-21 saw Liverpool struggle with injuries despite Salah scoring 22 goals. Liverpool struggled throughout the season but still managed to finish third. In the UCL, Liverpool were knocked out in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid.

2021-22 was hugely successful for Liverpool and Salah, who won the PL Golden Boot and the Playmaker Award. The Reds won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup but narrowly missed out on the Premier League on the final matchday by one point. Liverpool lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in the UCL final.

In what was a tough 2022-23 campaign for the Reds, Salah stood out as an exceptional performer for Jurgen Klopp’s men scoring 30 goals and getting 16 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

2017’s AFCON saw Salah make the team of the season, scoring two goals and assisting two in the tournament. He was named Egypt captain in September 2019. In the 2021-22 AFCON, Salah’s Egypt lost to Senegal in the final on penalties. They faced the same opposition in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and lost the same way.

Salah married his wife Maggi in 2013. He has two kids, Makka and Kayan born in 2014 and 2020 respectively. He is a practising Muslim by religion.
