Former Liverpool player Peter Crouch hails Liverpool ace Dominik Szoboszlai for his impressive performances this season
Liverpool appears to have regained their top form in the Premier League in the new 2023-24 season, as Jurgen Klopp has revitalised his team’s mindset. The Reds remain undefeated after five league games this season, and their efforts in rebuilding the midfield appear to be paying off successfully.
They recently made a strong comeback to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers by a 3-1 scoreline and grab second place in the league table.
Peter Crouch has expressed high praise for midfield general Dominik Szoboszlai’s impressive start at Liverpool. The player-turned-pundit mentioned that the 22-year-old midfielder’s ability has been surprising in a positive way.
The Hungarian captain has been an impressive player since his time at RB Salzburg, but it’s genuinely surprising how well he has adapted to the Premier League. Known as the toughest league globally, even top players can struggle, but Szoboszlai has seamlessly adjusted. Crouch was quick to pick out the player’s quick start to life at Anfield.
In a conversation with 90Min (h/t Liverpool Echo), the pundit said:
“He’s a class act. I seen him a little bit beforehand but it’s surprised me how well he’s taken to playing at Anfield. Even in the first it, straight away he was like a Rolls Royce in there. He’s a class act. He could end up being one of the signings of the season – he’s that good.”
It’s important for the Liverpool fans to give time to Szoboszlai and not get overly excited. Former Reds’ star Naby Keita had a similar, but less explosive, start before fading away.
However, the new midfield signing stands out with a high likelihood of success. It’s not just his on-field performance but also his off-field attitude that’s impressive. Unlike some who struggle under the pressure of a big club, the Hungarian star appears unfazed. His confidence, possibly stemming from captaining his national team, is evident.
His talent appears remarkable, and as Crouch suggests, Liverpool may have made the standout signing of the summer with him. Right now, he seems to be the perfect heir to Jordan Henderson.
Szoboszlai’s unwavering self-confidence seems entirely justified. If he can maintain this level of performance, his career will be a huge success at Anfield. However, there’s still a lot of work ahead for him. While he’s had a promising start, the next step is to elevate his game even further.
