Pundit Robbie Earle praises goalkeeper Alisson Becker for maintaining “brilliant” form this season
Former Port Vale and Wimbledon midfielder and current Football pundit Robbie Earle hailed Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker for maintaining “brilliant” form this season with the keeper again showing why he is currently one of the best.
Even in Liverpool’s controversial 2-1 loss at Tottenham, Alisson shone again with stellar saves. Earle believes the Brazilian has been a standout player amidst the team’s good performance so far.
One of his finest-ever saves came in our 3-1 win against West Ham United in the league last month when he dove low to his right to save a header from Tomas Soucek. Speaking on The 2 Robbies Podcast, Earle was full of praise for the Brazilian international.
“Alisson, by the way, has come up with two or three magnificent saves that many keepers in the league don’t get near to. His form recently; Newcastle away, brilliant save from Almiron; last weekend, brilliant save again. He’s back sharp, on top of his game, as the team were. I was so disappointed for Liverpool.”
The 30-year-old Alisson Becker was named Liverpool’s Player of the Season last campaign for keeping the team afloat through several match-winning performances. He has maintained that elite form this term.
Alisson’s shot-stopping and command of the box continue to be world-class. Statistics also rank him as the Premier League’s top keeper over the past year.

Liverpool would undoubtedly be far worse off without Alisson’s brilliance anchoring the defense. His consistency has been a bright spot amidst the Red’s recent good performances.
While things went wrong in their recent Tottenham clash surrounding VAR, the modest Alisson continued to produce when called upon.
Liverpool’s first loss of the season came in a dramatic fashion as they got Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones sent off with a red card and the match ended with an injury-time Joel Matip own goal sealing the Spurs win. However, despite the loss Alisson gave a phenomenal performance securing a 100 percent save accuracy.
