Liverpool eyeing 23-year-old Wolves ace following match winning performance vs Manchester City

Liverpool are eyeing Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto

According to Football Transfers (h/t Birmingham World), Premier League giants Liverpool are interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto ahead of the 2024 January transfer window.

The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries during his time at the Molineux but is capable of moments of magic. He is experiencing a resurgence of sorts this season and was mighty impressive against Manchester City in the 2-1 win last weekend.

Wolves are in a difficult position following the summer departures of Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore among others. However, with Neto and Co stepping up, the Pack can hope for an exciting season.

A winger, Neto

is a mobile forward brimming with pace and power. He is a difficult player to mark down and is capable of playing in a fluid frontline with great effect. This suits Liverpool who employ a forward three capable of interchanging and sowing chaos.

The Reds view the winger as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah ahead of the January transfer window. The Egyptian superstar continues to attract attention from several Saudi Arabian clubs and this is unlikely to dissipate in 2024.

While Liverpool are set to refuse any advances for Salah in January, they might be open to a suitable deal next summer. Of course, it is likely that it could depend on the club being handed a bucket load of cash and the availability of the right player to replace him.

Neto has enough Premier League experience and will not need time to acclimatise himself for the league. With next season’s European Championships endearing, Neto will be keen to keep pushing for a spot in the Portuguese squad. If he continues his purple patch, the Iberian giants might have no choice in the matter.

At 23, Neto is yet to hit his prime but continues to make a telling difference. Jurgen Klopp has a track record of helping young talents fulfil their potential. Neto could very well prove to be his next big star in the making. That is assuming the Reds can land their man.
