Liverpool star Mohamed Salah can overtake Kenny Dalglish to become the Reds’ most prolific goalscorer against Brighton

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has the chance to become the club’s all-time leading scorer against Brighton when the teams meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

According to Liverpool’s official website, Salah has netted six goals versus Brighton for Liverpool so far, equaling the tally of Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish. One more goal would see Salah overtake the legendary Scotsman to hold the outright Reds’ scoring record in this fixture.

Mohamed Salah already has the most Premier League goals ever by an African player and looks primed to set another scoring benchmark.

Ever since his £34.3m from AS Roma in 2017, the Egyptian has been one of Liverpool’s most reliable players. A prolific goalscorer and creator, Salah has developed into one of the finest attackers in world football.

Racking up achievements left and right in the red jersey is no new thing for the Egyptian international. Following his move to Anfield in 2017, he became Premier League’s Player of the Season after scoring 32 goals in 2017–18. He has also been awarded the Golden Boot three times, a sensational return for a winger.

Salah keeps delivering and breaking records. Surpassing a legend like Dalglish would be another historic achievement. Sunday’s match will mark eight years since Jurgen Klopp became the Reds’ manager. Klopp has overseen 190 wins in 303 league games with the Reds so far.

Liverpool have enjoyed success at Brighton’s home ground in recent years, losing just once in six Premier League visits under Klopp. However, we endured a poor run of results against them last season, something that needs to be remedied soon.

They’ll hope in-form Salah can make the difference again this weekend. By scoring his seventh goal against Brighton, the Egyptian star would write his name further into Liverpool lore.
