Sevilla are keeping an eye on Liverpool star Stefan Bajcetic ahead of 2024 summer transfer window
Stefan Bajcetic is swiftly emerging as a dominant midfielder at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp and it comes as no surprise that the likes of Sevilla are keeping close tabs on the youngster.
Signed from Celta Vigo in 2020, Bajcetic initially spent some time in the Reds’ youth ranks before being handed his big break by Klopp on 27 August 2022 in the 9-0 hammering of Bournemouth at Anfield. He has since pushed on and appears to be an excellent fit for the German’s system on Merseyside.
While injuries did bring his breakout season to a premature end, Bajcetic is still just 18 and has the best years of his career ahead of him. Given what we have seen of him in red so far, there is little reason to suggest he won’t go on to develop into a star in the years to come.
The 18-year-old is seen as a long-term investment for both Liverpool and Spain, both of whom can make use of his talents for the upcoming decade. According to Fichajes, La Liga side Sevilla are ready to jump onto the bandwagon and have earmarked the youngster as a long-term solution to their woes in midfield.
Victor Orta has identified the player as a perfect fit for their system and is eyeing a summer move for his services in 2024. The player’s current deal expires in 2027, giving the Reds an advantage in negotiations. While Sevilla retains a concrete interest, Liverpool are unlikely to want to part with their gem of a midfielder.
Jurgen Klopp’s stamp of approval
Klopp is an admirer of Bajcetic and it is evident from the trust he has placed in the teenager so far. Bajcetic already possesses ample footballing intelligence and will only benefit from working with Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard has taken the protege under his wing and the impact of proper guidance is showing.
“The mix of Serbia and Spain is good for his football. He’s an intelligent boy. Interesting that his dad and Thiago’s dad played together. Thiago took him under his wing. An absolute joy.”
Currently recovering from an injury, Bajcetic is expected to be handed several more opportunities to impress this season. If what we have seen so far is anything to go by, the Reds have a potentially world-class player on their hands.

Liverpool are rebuilding and it makes little sense for them to sell a top talent like Bajcetic. Not only will he future-proof a midfield spot for the Reds but will also get ample opportunities to play regularly at Anfield under a manager who trusts him. There is little reason for Sevilla to be optimistic as things stand.
