“Never forget that feeling”- Trent Alexander-Arnold pinpoints one Liverpool moment he wants to relive in his career

Trent Alexander-Arnold recounts his pinnacle emotion, sharing his ultimate Liverpool moment thus far.

Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold shared the ultimate Liverpool moment that he would love to relive. In his relatively young career, the 25-year-old has created countless memories with his teammates and the Kopites.

The 25-year-old has already won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, FA Community Shield UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup with the Reds.

From Scouser to vice-captain: Trent’s journey

The Scouser made his senior debut under Klopp at the age of 18 in 2016. The 25-year-old has played 280 games in which he has contributed 16 goals and 73 assists for the Reds.

The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp handed Trent the vice-captaincy duties during the summer after the departure of James Milner. The England international has played a pivotal role under the German’s reign since earning promotion from the esteemed Liverpool academy.

Trent shared the moment he would love to relive in the “We are Liverpool” podcast (h/t Liverpool FC official site). He said:

“By far really, the best moment I’ve ever felt on a pitch was Divock’s goal in Madrid. We’re 1-0 up the whole game and we’re fighting, digging in and we’re closer and closer and closer and it gets to 85, whatever, onwards. And it goes in… at that point you know, unless they come up with an absolute miracle, it was just that feeling of, ‘We’ve won it.’ Never forget that feeling. By far the best feeling I’ve ever felt on the pitch.”

Chasing glory: Liverpool’s memorable European campaigns

The Reds won the Champions League final 2-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2018-19 season at Madrid. Liverpool took the lead in just the second minute of the game after a clinical penalty from Mohamed Salah.

The Reds let Spurs control most of the possession but never looked too uncomfortable throughout the game. However, the narrow lead kept everyone on the edge of their seats till Divock Origi scored in the 87th

minute.

Liverpool’s journey to the final had plenty of special moments of their own which involved Trent many times. During the semi-final, Liverpool made a historic comeback in the second leg against the mighty Barcelona.

The Spanish giants were led by the greatest football player in the eyes of many football intellects, Lionel Messi, and former Liverpool icon Luis Suarez. Barcelona took an emphatic 3-0 lead in the first leg despite a courageous display from Klopp’s team. The second leg took Barcelona by surprise despite the unavailability of Salah and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool managed a 4-0 win. Origi scored the fourth goal for the Reds after a clever corner taken by Trent. The commentator’s surprise scream of “corner taken quickly” has become a legend in itself.

More Liverpool News

We think Liverpool have unfinished business in the Champions League after losing two other finals under Klopp’s reign. Trent may have yet another opportunity to relive the grand moment of a European final once again. However, the Kopites must be hoping that their fellow Scouser will add the Europa Cup to his collection this season.
