PSV star Johan Bakayoko €25m price tag revealed amid Liverpool links
20-year-old Johan Bakayoko is a Liverpool transfer target. The player has been making waves for PSV in the Eredivisie and could potentially follow the path of Cody Gakpo, who joined the Reds in January earlier this year.
Jurgen Klopp’s men though, have a plethora of options to choose from when it comes to attacking options and investing in attacking reinforcements is not the best thing for the Reds to do, at least at this point in time.
However, the player at 20 years of age, has a lot of potential and could be a smart addition to the squad keeping in mind long-term interests in mind.
Given Liverpool’s attacking depth, best believe that the club’s resources might sit better spent elsewhere, particularly in addressing their defensive needs.
While Bakayoko‘s potential is exciting, the team’s current focus should arguably be on shoring up their backline, especially with the uncertain future of defenders like Joel Matip and the ongoing quest for a long-term partner for Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool’s squad is already brimming with attacking prowess, and Bakayoko’s arrival could potentially lead to increased competition for playing time among the forwards (h/t Fichajes). Instead, many supporters and pundits are calling for investment in the defence, as this would likely provide more immediate and tangible benefits to the team’s performance.
In 15 appearances across all competitions this season, he has one goal and six assists so far and has been mighty impressive.
